The Web-based information technology training facility of Yapster e-Conglomerate Inc. recently went live on the World Wide Web, positioning itself as the Philippines' first company to do so in full blast.
Called 2StudyIT.com, it specializes in distance learning using Internet technology and is the premier Asian provider of Web-based training (WBT).
"Committed to educational innovation, 2StudyIT.com is the pioneer site of online training in the Philippines. In the pursuit of educational excellence, we have access to latest developments in WBT and will provide a one-stop shop for a wide range of courses," said Arlene Yap, chief executive officer of Yapster e-Learning Inc. (www.2StudyIT.com)
Yapster e-Learning is a subsidiary Internet company of Yapster e-Conglomerate Inc., the Philippine's first family "Cyber Corporation."
The other Yapster Internet entities are Active Business Solutions, Yapster e-Insurance Inc., Yapster e-Trade Inc., Yapster e-Travel Inc., Yapster SharedServices and an Interaction Center.
At a press briefing, Yap gave assurance that 2StudyIT.com delivers the full spectrum of learning needs - from standard products to fully tailored e-learning solutions - from leading content providers such as NetG, an internationally recognized course creator. NetG writers work with software companies to create or enhance the courses they offer. Some of the companies it has worked with are Oracle, Cisco, Novell, Netscape and Microsoft. At present 2StudyIT.com offers 31 curricula with more than 200 courses.
"We bundle all the courses to bring you all the knowledge you need for a specific subject," Yap said. "2StudyIT.com ensures that WBT really does improve productivity and your organization's learners. We dedicate our best to improving your competitiveness through effective learning."
According to Yap, for 2StudyIT.com to be in the forefront of innovative teaching and learning, it picked Oracle as strategic partner.
"Our ultimate goal is to be the learning mall of the Philippines and the world by delivering the most dynamic course catalogue and value-added services to the learning public," she said.
"The Golden Age of learning is yet to come and 2StudyIT.com is here to deliver premium WBT," she said. "Studies have shown that the WBT environment results in up to 30 percent higher learning retention than any other training methods. Thus, WBT improves productivity, particularly the leadership qualities of your learners."
For training organizations, investing in WBT certification has proved to yield a less than 9-month return on investment. Asia-Pacific WBT is forecast to grow at 94 percent yearly over the next five years. In 2004, IDC forecasts that, growing at an annual rate of 11 percent, 2.7 million qualified IT workers will be needed, and supply will not be able to match this demand.
